10 highest earning celebrities under 30

An adage states that youth is wasted on the young. The actors, musicians and singers on the following list would likely disagree with this statement. These entertainers represent the top earning celebrities under 30 during the 12-month period between June 2012 and June 2013, and they put the world on notice that youth will be served!

10. Taylor Lautner

Age: 21
Earnings: $22 million

The 21 year old actor has grown up with the Twilight series. Professionally, the movies have made him a household name and, from June 2012 to June 2013, earned him $22 million.

9. Kristen Stewart

Age: 23
Earnings: $22 million

The Twilight series launched Kristen Stewart into a spotlight she does always seem willing to embrace. The former child actor earned $22 million in the 12 month period beginning in June 2012, primarily from her starring role in the hit Twilight movies as well as the box office hit, Snow White and the Huntsman.

8. Jennifer Lawrence

Age: 22
Earnings: $26 million

Already an Academy Award winning actress at the age of 22, Jennifer Lawrence has a great personality. The actress only earned $1 million for her starring role in The Hunger Games, but with earnings for her participation in the second movie in the series, Catching Fire, made $26 million for the 12 month period ending in June 2013.

7. Adele

Age: 25
Earnings: $30 million

The British wunderkind earned $30 million from June 2012 to June 2013. Most of her earnings during this period were from album sales. While her professional life was not particularly active during this time, her personal life was. In October 2012, the singer became a mother for the first time.

6. Katy Perry

Age: 28
Earnings: $39 million

From 2010 to late 2011, Katy Perry was seemingly everywhere. Her album Teenage Dream resulted in five No.1 singles, making her the first artist to accomplish this feat since Michael Jackson. While the 12-month period starting in June 2012 was less hectic for her, Katy Perry still managed to earn $39 million based on private performances, her fragrance line with Coty, and an endorsement deal with Popchips.

5. Rihanna

Age: 25
Earnings: $43 million

A prolific album maker, Rihanna recently released Unapologetic, her seventh album in the past year years. When not recording songs for her new album, Rihanna found time to play 40 shows and lend her celebrity to brands like Vita Coco. All her hard work and efforts paid off, with the singer earning $43 million between June 2012 and June 2013.

4. Calvin Harris

Age: 29
Earnings: $46 million

A newcomer to the list, the Scottish DJ, singer and record producer born Adams Richard Wiles grossed $46 million in the 12-month period from June 2012 to June 2013. While the majority of Harris’ earnings were from performing—he played more than 150 shows in that 12 month period—he also has earnings from writing and producing songs like “Feel So Close,” “Need Your Love,” and “We Found Love.”

3. Taylor Swift

Age: 23 years old
Earnings: $55 million

Just 23 years old, Taylor Swift is already one of the most successful musical artists of her day. Her latest album Red sold 1.2 million copies in its opening week. While strong album sales contributed to the $55 million Taylor Swift earned from June 2012 to June 2013, her endorsement deals with Diet Coke, Sony and Covergirl and a massive tour helped to ensure her place on the list.

2. Justin Bieber

Age: 19
Earnings: $58 million

The enfant terrible of the music business, Justin has spent the past year urinating in restaurant mop buckets, allegedly speeding through the trendy California neighborhood of Calabasas and making a lot of money. The singer raked in $58 million between June 2012 and June 2013 from touring and investments in startup companies like Tinychat and Spotify.

1. Lady Gaga

Age: 27
Earnings: $80 million

Lady Gaga has one of the most ardent fan bases in all of entertainment. Her Little Monsters, as her fans call themselves, routinely espouse her virtues on Facebook, Twitter and other social media websites. Given the level of buzz and excitement she generates, no one should be surprised that she took the top spot on the top earning celebrities under 30 list. Her Born This Way tour had grossed $168 million when she was forced to bring it to an end due to a hip injury. The future continues to look bright for Lady Gaga, with a new album “Artpop” scheduled to come out in November 2013.

Beyoncé shops at Walmart

Beyonce is just full of surprises these days! The singer continued to celebrate the release of her self-titled, record-breaking, fifth studio album on Friday, Dec. 20 — with a trip to a Walmart store in a town called Tewksbury.

Following her big night out in NYC on Thursday — which included a Brooklyn show and album release party — the “XO” singer, 32, scurried off to Massachusetts and completely ambushed Walmart shoppers on Friday at 7 p.m.

The songstress pushed her own cart up and down the aisles of the retailer and even purchased a copy of Beyonce.

Dressed impeccably in an aqua-colored crop top and matching skirt, paired with a stylish black leather jacket, the singer walked into the store, beaming, as she looked over at a showcase of her latest solo album. (Physical copies of Beyonce went on sale in stores Friday, just one week after its secret, exclusive iTunes release.)

Jay Z’s wife not only addressed the crowd and greeted eager shoppers, but left each customer with a holiday gift!

Every person on site received a $50 Walmart gift card from the global superstar, the store manager explained. A total of 750 cards ($37,500 worth of gift cards purchased by Bey) were enclosed within envelopes that read, “Happy Holidays from Beyonce.”

At one point during her visit, Blue Ivy’s mom even held a baby girl and told the little one, “You are beautiful,” as seen in one person’s Instagram video. But baby Blue was clearly on her mommy’s mind: Along with her new album, Beyonce’s shopping cart included a few toys for her 23-month-old daughter.

5 signs you might get skin cancer

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the U.S., afflicting more than two million Americans each year. The good news? It is also the easiest to cure, if diagnosed and treated early.

Since skin cancer is primarily a lifestyle disease, it can be prevented with awareness, education and a healthy dose of SPF.

1. If you skimp on sunscreen: ”Many people don’t think they need to wear sunscreen in mild temperatures or cloudy days. However, UV radiation can penetrate cloud cover, pollution and one meter of water. Reapply sunscreen throughout the day, especially after working out and swimming,” . “One application often does not provide enough protection to last the full day.”

2. If you’re skin type I or II: According to The Skin Cancer Foundation, certain types of skin are at greater risk of developing sun damage and skin cancer. There are six skin phototypes—skin types I and II face the highest risk, while types V and VI are at the lowest risk. Anyone can fall prey to skin cancer, however, so it’s important to protect yourself.

3. If your medicine cabinet is overflowing: “Many medications can cause photosensitivity, which makes the skin more sensitive to sunlight. A person’s risk for melanoma doubles if he or she has had more than five sunburns at any age,”. “In fact, one or more blistering sunburns in childhood or adolescence more than doubles a person’s risk of developing melanoma later in life.“

4. If you spot new spots: Beauty marks can be beautiful, but sometimes they can be deadly. Irregular moles can be a sign of skin cancer and any new birthmarks or brown spot should be checked out immediately. Do not ignore a suspicious spot simply because it does not hurt!

5. If you haven’t studied up on the new FDA sunscreen standards: All sunscreens are not created equal. The FDA is now holding all manufacturers accountable for labeling sunscreens in a transparent way that helps consumers really understand their safety and effectiveness.

Plastic surgery gone wrong

Lil Kim is a little touchy when it comes to being open about her plastic surgery. When asked about her procedures she was appalled and offended. She is rumored to have undergone several procedures ranging from nose jobs to cheek implants. Who knew this was the same Lil Kim that we used to know!
